Dr. Andreas Dressel has been in office as Finance Senator of Hamburg since 2018. Dr. Dressel, who holds a doctorate in law, has been active in various positions in the SPD since 1993, most recently as Chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Hamburg State Parliament until 2018. In addition, Dr Dressel is voluntarily involved in a number of foundations, including the victim protection organisation „Der Weiße Ring“ (The White Ring) and the social democratic Gemeinschaft für Kommunalpolitik Hamburg e.V. (Community for Local Politics Hamburg).
